I helped students at Hastings Academy and Robsack Wood Primary write songs on the theme of Women Scientists for the Storytelling Festival audio installation on Saturday 12th October in Wellington Square, Hastings, 12-3pm.

I helped teachers and pupils write songs as part of the Hastings Thrives Songwriting Competition, the final of which was held on 3rd July at The White Rock Theatre. The theme was Summer Days.

It can also enhance creativity and problem solving skills, as well as engendering a sense of well being and harmony, as is highlighted in this article, "Is music the key to success?"
Creating music provides an exciting, powerful and hugely effective way of lifting spirits, reducing stress, breaking down barriers and improving self-esteem. My workshops in singing, songwriting, guitar and ukulele can be tailored to suit to needs and abilities of your organisation, or can be a fun way to make any special occasion more memorable.
My workshops in singing, songwriting, guitar and ukulele can be tailored to suit to needs and abilities of your organisation, or can be a fun way to make any special occasion more memorable.
Basic skills in singing, guitar and ukulele are taught in hour, 2 hour, half or full day sessions, with the aim of creating a performance of a song, or even several songs, at the end of the session. This can be a cover or an original composed work devised by the participants. The performance will be recorded as an mp3 or CD as a souvenir of the day. No prior musical knowledge is necessary, and instruments will be provided, although anyone is welcome to bring in an instrument if they so wish!

I have taught vocal technique, vocal ensemble, keyboards, songwriting and lyric writing for the Academy of Music and Sound for 6 years, and have devised workshops for specific organisations, such as Warner Leisure Hotels, MOLP in Bristol, Wantage Stage Musical Company, Star Struck Stage School, Chippenham and Rising Aspirations, Swindon, as well as for many private functions, such as birthdays and hen nights.
